- Choose Memlow if you want your own notes, lists and small sheets without building a system first, working offline, with no AI.
- Stay with Notion if you need databases with linked pages, a team wiki, integrations, or desktop and iPhone apps.
- Notion exports Markdown and CSV, and Memlow imports both: Markdown files as notes, CSV files into a sheet.

Is Notion free?
For one person, yes. As of October 2026, Notion is free for a single person, and its Plus plan costs $10 a seat a month billed yearly, or $12 month to month. Notion AI comes with the Business and Enterprise plans, with a limited trial on Free and Plus. Memlow has no paid plan and no AI on any plan; the Android app shows a few ads and the web app none.
Where Notion is better
- Databases: tables of pages with relations, filters and many views, which Memlow doesn't have.
- Team wikis and documents, with pages inside pages.
- Integrations and an API, so other tools can read and write your workspace.
- Apps for Windows, Mac, iPhone and iPad. Memlow has the Android app and the web app only.
Where Memlow is different
- There's nothing to build. Open it and write: a note, a checklist with a reminder on one item, a goal, a sheet.
- It all works offline, in the Android app and in the browser after your first visit.
- There's no AI, on any plan, and no paid plan at all.
- Notes stay on your device, and backups go to your own Google Drive, encrypted with a password only you know.
- Memlow Sheets has 108 functions and 15 chart types for budgets, timetables and stock lists, inside the same app as your notes.
Who should stay with Notion
If you run a team's docs in Notion, track work in its databases or connect it to other tools, stay with it: Memlow doesn't do those things. If you mostly use Notion for your own notes, lists and a budget table, and you've felt it's more than you need, Memlow is the lighter option.
How to move from Notion
- In Notion, export the pages you want as Markdown and CSV. Unzip the download if it comes as a zip file.
- Open app.memlow.com on your computer and drop the Markdown files onto it. Each file becomes a note, with its headings, lists, checklists and tables.
- For a table, open a sheet and import the CSV file as a new tab.
- Turn on Google Drive backup, so your notes reach the Android app too.
Databases don't come across as databases: their rows arrive as CSV for a sheet, or as plain notes. Bring in notes from text or Markdown files and Import a CSV or TSV file into a sheet have the details.
