What Memlow is, in a few lines

Memlow is a free notes app for Android and the web. Notes, checklists, reminders, goals and small spreadsheets live on your phone or in your browser, and back up to your own Google Drive, encrypted with a password only you know. There's no AI in it at all. You can share a notebook or a single note, encrypted end to end.

Before you switch

A few things Memlow doesn't do yet, so you know before you move anything:

  • There's no iPhone or iPad app. The web app runs in a browser, but we haven't tested it in Safari on an iPhone yet.
  • There's no importer for Google Keep, Evernote or Samsung Notes. The web app imports text and Markdown files, one note per file, and Memlow backups.
  • There's no handwriting, drawing or PDF markup. Memlow is for typed notes, lists, photos and voice notes.
  • The Android app shows a few ads to stay free, never in the editor. The web app has none.

The import help shows what comes across from text and Markdown files.

Which notes app alternative is right for me?

If you want a lock on single notes, backups only you can open and no AI, Memlow fits. If you need an iPhone app, handwriting or a team wiki, one of the others will suit you better, and each page here says which.

Is Memlow really free?

Yes. There's no paid plan and nothing to unlock. The Android app shows a few ads; the web app has none.

Can I bring my notes from another app?

From text or Markdown files, yes: drop them onto app.memlow.com and each becomes a note. There's no direct importer for Google Keep, Evernote or Samsung Notes.

Try it with your own notes.

Memlow is free, with no AI. Open it in your browser in a second, or get the Android app.
