memlow.com uses a few small cookies only to keep you signed in and remember your language. There are no advertising or tracking cookies, and our visit counts don't use cookies at all.
Our cookies
None of these is set until you need it: the sign-in cookies only when you sign in to a Memlow account, the language cookie only when you pick a language on the account pages.
__Host-ml_session: keeps you signed in to your Memlow account. Page scripts can't read it, and it is only ever sent to memlow.com over a secure connection. It lasts until you sign out, or 30 days after you last use Memlow while signed in.ml_in: tells memlow.com's pages and the notes app at app.memlow.com that you are signed in, so they can show your account. It contains only "1", is shared between memlow.com and app.memlow.com, and lasts as long as the sign-in cookie.ml_lang: remembers the language you picked on the account pages. It lasts one year.__Host-ml_studio: only for the people who write and run memlow.com, to keep them signed in to the site's editor. It lasts 12 hours after they last use it. Visitors never get it.
What we don't use
No advertising cookies, no analytics or tracking cookies, and no cookies from other companies on our pages. Our visit counts add one to a page's total for the day and keep nothing that could tell your visits apart. The privacy policy explains how.
Google sign-in
If you choose "Continue with Google", you go to Google's own pages to sign in. Google uses its own cookies there, under Google's privacy policy. The same is true when you link Google Drive for backups. We don't show Google's automatic sign-in prompt on our pages.
Videos in blog posts
A blog post may include a YouTube video. It loads from YouTube's privacy-enhanced address (youtube-nocookie.com). If you play the video, YouTube may use cookies under Google's privacy policy.
Your browser's storage
Memlow on the web keeps your notes and settings in your browser's own storage (not cookies), so they stay on your device and work offline. It also remembers that you have already seen the welcome screen. The notepad on our notepad page keeps its one note there too, and memlow.com remembers whether you chose light or dark (memlow-mode). None of this is sent to us. Clearing your browser's data for app.memlow.com removes it, so back up your notes first.
Your choices
Signing out removes the sign-in cookies. You can also see and delete cookies in your browser's settings at any time. If you block all cookies for memlow.com, the notes app still works, but you can't sign in to an account or link Google Drive.
