Write a to do list in seconds
Open a new note, type [ ] and a space, and you have a to do list. Press Enter for the next task. In the Android app the checklist button does the same, and the + button's long press offers templates such as the day planner and the week planner.
A list can sit inside any note, between ordinary lines of text. Indent a task under another one, drag tasks into a new order, and turn on Move ticked items to the bottom in Settings so what's left stays on top. Checklists are covered in more detail on the checklist app page.
Reminders on any task
Any single task can have its own reminder. Choose a time, or a quick pick such as this evening or tomorrow morning, and it can repeat every day, on the weekdays you choose, every month or every year. A repeating task unticks itself, ready for next time. Snooze or mark it done straight from the notification.
You can also just write it: "pay the electricity bill Friday 5pm" and Memlow offers that reminder. That's a set of fixed rules on your device, in 12 languages including Urdu, Hindi and Arabic. No AI reads the note.
On Android, reminders ring with the app closed. On the web they ring while Memlow is open in a tab or installed as an app, and a missed one waits in the bell. See notes with reminders.
Today, This week, Upcoming and Done
Tasks gathers every dated item from every note into one list. Today puts anything overdue first, This week and Upcoming show what's coming, and Done keeps what you've finished. Tick a task in Tasks and it's ticked in its note too, so the list and the note never disagree.
Need it on paper? Tasks can be saved as a PDF, laid out as the screen shows it, for the fridge door or a meeting.
Share a to do list
A shared to do list is where a shopping run, a house move or a small project usually lives. Put the list in a folder and share it as a notebook, invite people by email or @username, and choose Can edit or Can view. Ticks and new tasks show up for everyone within about a second, and when two people type at once both keep their words.
A notebook can be shared with up to 19 people, and everything in them is encrypted end to end, so Memlow's servers pass along what they can't read. To share, you need a free Memlow account with Google Drive backup turned on. A team at work can use teams to share many lists at once.
A to do list widget
On Android, add the Today widget to your home screen. It lists today's tasks and reminders, marks late ones, and lets you tick a task off without opening the app. The Note widget keeps one whole checklist in view, ticked right there. All five widgets are on the widgets page.
With app lock on, a widget shows that it's locked, and a tap opens Memlow, instead of showing your tasks. You can turn that off in Settings.
Free, private and offline
Memlow is free, with no paid plan. The web app has no ads; the Android app shows a few, never while you write. Your lists stay on your phone or in your browser and work with no connection at all. Back them up to your own Google Drive, encrypted with a password only you know.
