Delete your notes, backups and account
To delete your Memlow data, clear up to four places. They are the notes on your phone, the notes in your browser, the backups in your Google Drive, and your Memlow account if you made one. Each is deleted on its own, so deleting your account doesn't delete your notes, and deleting your notes doesn't close your account.
Deleted data can't be brought back. If you might want your notes later, export them first: see Export notes as Markdown, text or PDF.
Delete the notes on your phone
Uninstall Memlow. Android deletes everything Memlow stored on the phone: notes, photos, voice notes, reminders, settings and your PIN. Memlow doesn't keep a copy in Android's own cloud backup.
Delete the notes in your browser
- In app.memlow.com, open
Settings, thenBackup and data. - Choose
ErasebesideErase Memlow from this browser. - Memlow asks "Erase everything in this browser?". Choose
Erase.
This deletes every note, photo, recording, reminder and setting in this browser. Clearing your browser's data for app.memlow.com does the same. Neither touches your Google Drive.
Delete your backups in Google Drive
Memlow keeps its backups in a hidden folder in your own Google Drive. Deleting them removes every Memlow backup and every synced note file there, from all your devices.
Do this in order, or a device that's still linked will upload its notes again:
- On every device except one, stop backing up. On Android, open
Settings, thenGoogle Drive backup, and chooseTurn off Drive backup. On the web, openSettings, thenStorage and Google Drive, and chooseUnlink Google Drive. - On the last device, choose
Delete Drive backupson the same screen and confirm withDelete(Android) orDelete Drive backups(web). - Then turn off Drive backup, or unlink Google Drive, on that device too.
You can also remove Memlow's hidden folder from Google Drive's own settings on the web, under managing apps. Backup files you saved yourself, on a computer or a USB stick, are deleted like any other file.
Delete your Memlow account
Your account holds your name, email, sign-in details, photo, profile, username and the list of your signed-in devices. It never holds your notes.
On Android
- Tap
Accountin the bar along the bottom. - Tap
Delete account. - Enter your account password if Memlow asks, and tap
Delete account.
Memlow says "Account deleted. Your notes are still on this phone."
On the web
- Open
Accountand chooseManage account. Your account page on memlow.com opens. - Open
Your data, thenDelete account. - Type
DELETE, and your password if the page asks for it, then chooseDelete my account.
Deleting the account straight away removes your sign-ins, photo, banner, profile details and account log. A remembered backup key goes too, and Memlow's access to your Google Drive is removed at Google. Notebooks you own are deleted for everyone in them; you leave the ones others shared with you. Memlow emails you to confirm.
Your notes on your devices and your backups in Google Drive stay where they are. Delete them as above if you want them gone too.
Note
Signing out isn't the same as deleting. When you sign out, Memlow backs your notes up to your Google Drive, then removes them from that device. Sign in again later and they come back.
Can't sign in to delete your account?
Write to [email protected] from the email address on the account, and say you want it deleted. We'll check it's yours and delete it.

Questions and answers
How do I delete everything?
Uninstall the Android app, erase Memlow from your browser (Settings, then Backup and data), delete your Drive backups from a device that's still linked, and delete your account from Account. Each step removes only its own part.
Does deleting my account delete my notes?
No. Your notes on your phone and in your browser, and your Google Drive backups, stay. Only the account and what it holds are deleted.
How do I delete my Drive backups?
Turn off Drive backup on your other devices, then choose Delete Drive backups on the last one, in Google Drive backup on Android or Storage and Google Drive on the web.
Can a deleted account or backup be brought back?
No. Once deleted, neither can be restored, by you or by us.
