Inventory sheet

This inventory sheet is a free spreadsheet template made for a small shop. It keeps each item's stock in hand, the level where you reorder, its unit cost and the value of what's on the shelf. When an item drops to its reorder level, its Reorder box ticks itself and turns red.

What's in this inventory sheet

  • Columns for item, stock in hand, reorder level, unit cost, stock value, reorder and a product code.
  • Stock value worked out for each item, and the total value of all your stock.
  • A Reorder box that ticks itself when stock falls to the reorder level, and turns red.
  • A bar chart of stock against reorder level, and room for 39 items.

Reorder levels and stock value

  1. Update the stock column at closing time, and check which Reorder boxes are red before you call your supplier.
  2. Use Data, Sort range to sort by stock value and see where your money sits.
  3. Pair it with the stock reorder list note to keep track of what's already on order.

How to start

Questions about inventory sheets

How do I know what to reorder?

Set a reorder level for each item. When stock in hand falls to that level, the Reorder box ticks itself and turns red.

Does it work out the value of my stock?

Yes. Each row multiplies stock by unit cost, and the total at the top adds up the value of everything.

Is this an accounting app?

No. It's a simple stock sheet for a small shop. For tax and accounts, use proper accounting software or your accountant's tools.
