What's in this grade sheet
- Subjects down the side, with columns for Test 1, Test 2 and the final exam.
- An Average column for each subject, and an Overall row with the average of each test.
- A colour scale that shades low scores red, middle ones yellow and high ones green.
- A bar chart of the average for each subject.
Averages, weights and classes
- Add a column for each new test, then widen the Average formula to include it.
- If tests count differently, use SUMPRODUCT to weight them, for example 25% for each test and 50% for the final.
- Teachers can keep one tab per class, with a row for each student instead of each subject.

Questions about the grade sheet
How does the grade calculator work out averages?
Each subject's Average cell uses AVERAGE on its test scores, and the Overall row averages each test across subjects. Change a mark and every average updates.
Can I weight the final exam more?
Yes. Replace AVERAGE with a weighted formula such as SUMPRODUCT, and the colours and chart follow the new numbers.
Is it for students or teachers?
Both. Students track their own marks by subject; teachers can list students instead of subjects.
