How people use it

Made-up examples, built from what the app really does.

A poet in KarachiGhazals in NastaliqUrdu shows in Nastaliq straight away. He writes each ghazal in its own note, with the Truck art theme, and the English translation on the lines below.
A teacher in JaipurHindi notes, English termsLesson notes in Hindi with English science terms mixed in, written in the Kalam font. Search finds a Hindi word as easily as an English one.
A student in AmmanArabic notes, right to leftWith the app in Arabic, everything mirrors: menus, lists and checklists. A day and a time written in Arabic in a note are offered as a reminder.

Urdu in Nastaliq

Urdu is shown in Nastaliq, the way it's meant to look, without changing anything; on Android you can choose Naskh instead. Switch the app to Urdu and it turns right to left. The Urdu notes page and Write notes in Urdu, Arabic and other RTL have the details, and themes such as Ajrak, Phulkari, Truck art and Mughal miniature come from home.

Arabic, right to left

Choose العربية in Settings and the whole layout mirrors. Arabic notes can use the Vazirmatn or Noto Naskh Arabic fonts. Search ignores the different shapes of Arabic letters and reads Arabic-Indic digits, so you find a word however it was typed.

Hindi and other scripts

Memlow's menus come in Hindi on both apps, and Hindi notes can use fonts made for Devanagari, such as Kalam and Poppins. On the web, Memlow is in 15 languages; on Android, 35, including Bengali, Persian and Hebrew. Dates, numbers and the first day of the week follow your language.

Mix languages in one note

Each paragraph takes its direction from its first letter, so an Urdu line and an English line sit together in one note, each reading the right way. You can also set a line to right to left or left to right yourself. Tags work in any script.

Reminders and voice in your language

Write a time in a note and Memlow offers a reminder. It reads dates in 12 languages, including Urdu, Roman Urdu, Hindi and Arabic, using fixed rules on your device, not AI. Voice typing uses your phone's or browser's own speech recognition, so it works in the languages your device supports.
